Farmers Reaction

Dewoming by wormicide improves the general health and decreases mortality.

It is clear from data given in table-2 that the body weight of calves increased 20% over farmers practice. The mortality remained only 13% with demonstration calves while it was recorded 63% with farmers practice.

For dissemination of technology field days were organized in each village after the completion of FLD. In which farmers from non-adopted villages and extension functionaries from State of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture participated. After seeing the good health of calves farmers have been convinced with deworming technology.

Dissemination of technology among farmers

Year Name of Village No. of Farmers No. of Calves Deworming Dose Given No. of Animals Deworming Dose Given
2001 Baraikalyanpur 45 50 15
2002 Virnagar 25 30 8
2003 Ganeshpur 22 26 7
2004 Nusrutpur 24 28 7
2005 Harchandpur 34 42 12
2006 Mudai Prahladnagar 65 102 22
2007 Bhoor Gadda & Babarpur 85 105 54
  Total 300 383 126

The above table No.3in support of dissemination shows that the other farmers of adopted villages have also started to give wormicide not only to their calves but also to their adult animals.
